Founded in the summer of 2002 out of a playful challenge among friends, FC Wojtyla is a club built on camaraderie, humor, and a love for competition. What started as a casual gathering quickly evolved into a spirited and informal community, blending athletic fun with a lighthearted approach to tradition. With roots in Vienna and a flair for the absurd, FC Wojtyla thrives on its unique, whimsical origins and the shared passion of its members.
The team was founded in 2024 with the name of Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia di Roma, participating in the 54th EFCT in Naples, finishing in the 9th place. In June 2024, it won a splendid 3rd place in the Coppa Italia dei Teatri, at the end of a day in which the Romans, who arrived in Verona in eleven counts, resisted opponents and injuries. In 2025, the team officially became Teatri di Roma, to unite the different Roman musical and artistic realities.
The Vienna State Opera is a historic opera house in Vienna, opened in 1869 as the "Vienna Court Opera" in the presence of Emperor Franz Joseph I. It was the first major building on the Vienna Ring Road and seats 1,709 people. One of the world’s busiest opera houses, it stages over 350 performances yearly, including opera and ballet. It is home to the Vienna State Ballet and the famous Vienna Opera Ball, and its orchestra feeds into the Vienna Philharmonic.
Bühnen Graz stands for artistic and cultural diversity as well as unique live experiences that inspire, excite, and bring people together. As Austria's largest state theater group, we unite the most important theaters in the city of Graz and the state of Styria: Graz Opera, Graz Schauspielhaus, Next Liberty, Grazer Spielstätten, and art + event | Theaterservice Graz. As the group management, Bühnen Graz GmbH forms the foundation for these unique moments. With clear concepts, structural frameworks, and a sustainable vision, we create the space in which diversity and creativity can flourish. We are responsible for strategic management in accordance with cultural policy and economic goals, promote synergies, and thus shape the future of culture sustainably.
The All European Stars is a team composed of players from different European Nations and Theatres, both those from the Theatres who are unable to participate, and some made available by the participating teams. It debuted in the EFCT 36 in Milan in 2003, captained by Måns Patterson of the Royal Theater in Stockholm, finishing second. This year is its ninth participation in the Tournament. Also in the last occasion in which it participated, Milan 2022, it ranked second in the EFCT.
Theater Basel, Switzerland's largest multi-genre theatre, was established in 1834 with a building designed by Melchior Berri. After a fire in 1904 destroyed the second theatre, a new one opened in 1909. The current structure, designed by Schwarz & Gutmann, was inaugurated in 1975. Today, it offers opera, drama, and ballet performances across three main stages.
The Maribor Theatre football team represents the Slovenian National Theatre Maribor, a cultural hub offering drama, opera, ballet, and symphony performances. Located in the historic city center, the theatre plays a vital role in local cultural life and hosts Slovenia’s largest theatre festival, Borštnikovo srečanje. The team is part of a vibrant arts community with international collaborations and events. It blends the passion for performance with the spirit of sport, uniting artists and staff on the field.
Teatro alla Scala has a rich football tradition, with official matches starting in the 1950s and gaining momentum in the 1960s thanks to conductor Claudio Abbado. The Scala Football Group has participated in the European Championship 41 times, winning three titles and organizing or co-hosting ten editions. In Italy, La Scala has won two national theatre cups and regularly plays matches during international tours. The team also joins charity events and public tournaments, celebrating the blend of sport and the performing arts.
The SK Burgtheater football team represents the iconic Burgtheater in Vienna, opened in 1888 and located on the Ringstraße. It is part of the Burgtheater GmbH, which includes multiple venues like the Akademietheater and Kasino am Schwarzenbergplatz. The team’s jerseys feature the colors anthracite/light green and red/white. Blending sport and stage, the team likely includes staff and artists from Austria’s renowned national theatre.
The Österreichische Bundestheater football team represents Europe's largest theatre organization, rooted in Austria's imperial and national theatre traditions. Its institutions include the Burgtheater, Volksoper, and Akademietheater. Team members come from a workforce of around 2,400 artistic, technical, and administrative staff.
The Teatro Principal of Zaragoza was built in 1799 (its 225th anniversary was in 2024). Since then, it has undergone several renovations, the most notable being in the 19th century, inspired by the layout of La Scala in Milan, and later in the 20th century to maintain its current appearance. It is an Italian-style theater with a capacity for 864 spectators. It is publicly owned by the Zaragoza City Council. It has 50 employees and hosts productions covering all genres of the performing arts. In 2007, we participated in the European Theatre Teams Championship for the first time, having participated in 12 editions.
The Gaspare Tirincanti Music Association in Riccione, thanks in part to its music school, promotes artistic initiatives, is dedicated to supporting young artists, and organizes cultural events, including a major jazz festival. https://www.riccionejazz.it/
The Vereinigte Bühnen Wien (United Stages Vienna) consist of four theatres. They were founded in 1987 and initially included the Theater an der Wien and the Raimund Theater. In 1988, the Ronacher was added, and until 2005, musicals were performed in all three theatres. In 2006, to mark the 250th birthday of W.A. Mozart, the Theater an der Wien became a dedicated opera house. In 2011, the Kammeroper was added as an additional venue. The football team of the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien is made up of performers, musicians, administrative staff, and technicians.
